ORDINANCE NO. 84-59
An ordinance granting a franchise to Trans Louisiana Gas Company, Inc. (a Louisiana
corporation), its successors and assigns, for a period of 25 years, for the construction,
maintenance and operation of a gas utility system, including the transmission, distribution
and sale of natural gas in, through, across and beyond the City of Carencro, Louisiana,
as same may now or hereafter lawfully exist, including the right to construct, maintain
and operate a system of pipes, pipelines, gas mains, laterals, conduits, feeders,
regulators, meters, fixtures, connections and attachments and other desirable instrumentalities
and appurtenances, in, over, under and through any of the streets, alleys, avenues,
sidewalks, bridges, public grounds and public places of said City of Carencro, in
connection with the transmission, distribution and sale of gas, fixing the terms,
conditions and limitations thereof, and providing for the payment by Trans Louisiana
Gas Company, Inc. (its successors and assigns) of a sum equal to three percent of
the gross receipts of said company from the sale and delivery of gas for residential
and commercial purposes billed on residential and commercial rates within the limits
of said municipality, as same may now or hereafter lawfully exist, and repealing all
ordinances in conflict herewith. Billing revenue from city, governmental and industrial
sales are specifically excluded.
Be it ordained by the mayor and board of aldermen of the City of Carencro, Louisiana
(hereinafter sometimes called the municipality) in regular session duly and legally
convened, that:
